Cost
It's hard to say how much it cost, since I built it myself and reassembled parts as I went along, but it was probably a little under 500,000 yen...
Production environment
I use triple monitors.
Two 24-inch and one 32-inch.
This includes monitors used for my main job and hobby games, so if you ask me if I need this many monitors, I don't. But it would be better to have at least a dual display.
But I think it is better to have at least dual displays.
It is too convenient to go back to a single display once I use it, such as when I use SD to generate prompts while looking at illustrations.
This is the environment I use. I am not using this kind of environment only for AI illustration generation.
Specifications required for AI illustration generation
Generating AI illustrations on your own is expensive because computer specs are everything...
However, I don't think this level of specs is necessary for normal generation.
As a conclusion of the current situation, you can generate AI illustrations without any problem if you buy a PC with 12GB of GPU memory.
Currently, GTX3060 12GB is the best solution in terms of cost performance.
If it is just the PC itself, you can probably buy it for a little over 100,000 yen.
16GB of memory is sufficient.
CPU is fine as long as it is not so old that it becomes a bottleneck.
SSD is recommended for storage. It will not speed up the creation itself, but it will speed up the writing after creation (I think), and it will take longer to browse and organize later if you use HDD.
Introduction of the tools I use
AI Illustration Generation Tool
StableDiffusion is the only tool I use to generate AI illustrations.
I mean, is there any other tool except for web services? I mean, is there any other tool except for web services?
You can do anything with it.
Real, 2D, copyrighted, uncensored, anything is possible.
Recently, SDXL, which is upwardly compatible with SDXL, has come out, but we have to wait and see because Lora's compatibility is still weak.
I will not change for the time being because I have to re-create the models.
Image processing tools
Photoshop is used for image processing.
I tried using free tools, but Photoshop is still the best.
I mainly use Photoshop to correct local areas and to remove unnecessary things that don't need to be corrected with inpaint or don't work well even if they are corrected.
Image management tools
I use a tool called Eagle for image management.
It can be linked to StableDiffusion and is extremely useful for saving prompts as they are, organizing tags, etc.
